Staff described the allocation as $20 million over 10 years for island needs, and noted DOT's approach will likely be to release funds in chunks (staff said the program as discussed might provide $2,000,000 per year to prioritize road and drainage projects), with the town as a subrecipient responsible for administering individual projects.
Councilors discussed prioritization, mobilization costs for island work, and the importance of capturing DOT budget commitments in their documentation. Staff said they will coordinate the required documentation, prepare a project-prioritization list and return with further action items.
