The Thompson School District board approved several finance and procedural items in its meeting, including bond-sale documentation, the draft Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and two upcoming academic calendars.
Bond issuance: Bob Ebersole, chief financial officer, briefed the board on the bond-sale documents that implement voter authorization to issue general obligation bonds not to exceed $99,000,000. The board voted unanimously to approve the form of the paying-agent agreement, bond purchase agreement and other financing documents and authorized the board president, superintendent and CFO to finalize pricing determinations.
ACFR and audit: CliftonLarsonAllen auditors presented the draft FY2025 ACFR and said they expected to issue an unmodified (clean) opinion after finishing single-audit procedures on federal awards. Auditors noted significant improvement from prior-year material weaknesses; current recommendations were limited to budget-process controls and some timing issues in grant accounting. The board voted to approve the draft ACFR for submission and accepted the auditor’s presentation.
Calendar approval: The board adopted the academic calendars for 2026–27 and 2027–28 after a brief discussion about professional development scheduling (tens week) and convocation timing.
All three items were approved by recorded vote; the board asked staff to return materials or follow-up work related to grant accounting adjustments and the single audit when completed.
