Committee moves to install Chris Gibson as chair, schedules February meeting and discusses parks board liaison

Chris Gibson was nominated for chair of the committee during a brief meeting dominated by procedural business and scheduling.

Unidentified Speaker 2 nominated Chris Gibson for chair; after the nomination and a voice ballot, Unidentified Speaker 1 said, "I will accept the nomination as chair." Unidentified Speaker 2 performed the second and the meeting proceeded without further contested nominations.

The committee agreed to move its regular meeting from January to February and to meet in the middle of the quarter, with the time proposed at 4:30 p.m. "The meeting times are generally always at 04:30," said Unidentified Speaker 2. Unidentified Speaker 1 asked staff member April to place the February meeting on the calendar; April agreed to do so.

Members noted scheduling conflicts: Unidentified Speaker 2 said, "I will be gone," flagging an expected absence for the proposed date. The group accepted that notice and did not change the planned date.

Discussion also touched on interboard coordination. Unidentified Speaker 3 suggested, "I think we need to look at maybe having the chair of this committee also be on the public Parks advisory board," and Unidentified Speaker 1 said they had recently attended that parks meeting and would be "happy to do that," proposing a joint meeting to define how the groups could work together. Unidentified Speaker 2 added that the chairs of the AMP and the facilities board have discussed whether an ordinance would be required to formalize such cross-membership.

With no further business, Unidentified Speaker 2 moved to adjourn, a second was recorded, and the committee closed after a verbal aye vote.
