Douglas County Board approves routine items, lays over three property-exemption matters to Dec. 2

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners approved routine business on Tuesday and moved three property-exemption items to the Dec. 2 meeting for further review.
During the Board of Equalization session, the board approved the minutes from the Nov. 4 meeting and set a hearing for Dec. 2 to consider certified assessment corrections that reflect the addition or value changes of vendor property. "Motion by Morgan, second by Rogers," the clerk called before tallying a 7-0 vote to approve both items.
The board then took resolutions C through H in a consent block but singled out three parcel items in resolution C for separate consideration: 25176 (Worship Prince Hall Grand Lodge), 25178 (Iglesia Cristiana Pato de Fe) and 25180 (North Omaha Church of Christ). Commissioner Rogers, noting the organizations and asking whether representatives were present, proposed approving the block while handling those three parcels separately. He later moved — and Commissioner Morgan seconded — to lay over items 25176, 25178 and 25180 to Dec. 2 "to give them a chance to call them, see if they can file and give the state a chance to make a decision on this exemption," the motion record shows. The board approved the layover 7-0.
Also on the consent calendar, the Douglas County Noxious Weed Control Authority approved minutes from its Jan. 28 meeting and a resolution placing special assessments on county property; both items passed without objection. The Board of Corrections likewise approved Oct. 28 minutes by unanimous vote.
