Kiera Hardaway, Sanford's CDBG manager, told attendees that housing rehabilitation applications released in November are in the final review stage and that the city hopes to mail decision letters within the next one to two weeks. "Those applications are in the final review, and hope to send those letters out within the next week or 2," Hardaway said.
Hardaway also noted that the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) was open and that a related event had been rescheduled for Feb. 9; flyers were available at the meeting.
Carlos of True Health described the nonprofit clinic's services — primary care, dental, OBGYN, pharmacy and labs — and said the center accepts Medicaid and Medicare and offers sliding-scale fees for uninsured patients. "If you don't have insurance, we can do slide and scale," Carlos said, and added that staff assist with benefit applications.
A Seminole County Department of Health representative reminded residents that county health offices would be closed on specified holiday dates and announced a food pantry/stock-market event next Tuesday from 4:00–5:30 p.m. with fresh produce and donated bakery items from Publix.
The meeting record does not provide award amounts or detailed eligibility criteria for the CDBG rehab program or LIHEAP beyond their availability; residents were invited to take flyers and ask questions at the meeting's end.
