The Arvada City Council approved its 2026 legislative agenda on Dec. 16, a document staff assembled across city departments to guide the city’s advocacy during the coming legislative session.
City attorney Padrick Emery told council the agenda was prepared by the city manager’s office and subject-matter staff to "guide staff's efforts and work in the upcoming legislative season for 2026." He said the agenda reflects input from multiple departments and the city’s lobbyists.
The agenda lists priorities across subject-matter areas, including fiscal and nonfiscal issues the city expects to monitor and act on. Emery said adoption authorizes staff and the city’s lobbyists to forward the agenda to state lawmakers and to track bills during the session.
Council member Davis moved the resolution and the council approved it 6–0 with Council member Bob Pfeiffer excused. The vote places the agenda into effect for staff work on state legislation in 2026.
The council did not alter the packet’s text during the meeting; staff said items in the agenda had been previously discussed with council at the annual legislative breakfast and other meetings.
Council President and members noted the adoption will help coordinate outreach to local state representatives and inform staff work in the year ahead.
