A responder summarized the timeline for the council: CPR was already in progress on arrival, Warren rescue assumed patient care, advanced life support including defibrillation and medications continued for about 20 minutes, and the patient regained a spontaneous heartbeat around 09:35 before being transported to the hospital. “Without question the immediate actions of DPW workers initiating CPR and promptly alerting emergency personnel directly contributed to the successful recovery that we have before us today,” a rescue representative told the council.
Council members gave those responders a standing ovation and said the recognition was meant to emphasize the importance of training and readiness among first responders and municipal staff. The council also noted that Christopher Stone, an Eagle Scout who could not attend the meeting, will be publicly recognized at a future meeting when his schedule allows.
Next steps: The council said it will schedule a formal recognition for Christopher Stone at an upcoming meeting and maintain the town’s practice of highlighting lifesaving responses as part of regular council business.
