Brigita Altman, dean for the Wisconsin Rapids campus, presented a campus and community update at the Dec. 15 meeting, sharing enrollment and program metrics as well as campus events and facility improvements.
Altman said headcount dipped slightly from 2024 to 2025 because some applied-technology programs moved to the Ameda site, but overall indicators are trending upward. Course completion stands at 90%; three-year program completion rose from 41% to 49%; six-year completion increased from 42% to 47%; fall-to-fall retention and job placement are improving.
Dual-credit activity increased substantially, with 593 additional dual credits granted, and the campus reported higher transition rates for students with dual credit. Altman summarized community engagement — including fall events, United Way Day of Giving volunteer work, the Monster March family event that drew about 331 children, and Veterans Day activities — and noted facility projects such as a completed greenhouse, an HVAC lab expansion and a planned dental hygiene program launching next fall.
Board members asked follow-up questions about dual-credit opportunities at local alternative schools and community partners; staff said some partnerships are limited by instructor certification but that students sometimes cross-enroll at partner high schools or neighboring campuses to access dual-credit courses.
