At the Jan. 13 meeting the board handled routine business items and moved the proposed 2026–27 school calendar forward.

Director Bocchanager moved to approve the board consent agenda, seconded by Director Wilson; the motion passed with the board voice vote recorded as 'Aye.' Director Perkins moved to adopt the superintendent's consent agenda, seconded by Director Bogenigra; that motion also passed by voice vote.

Director Gomes presented the 2026–27 school calendar for first reading, describing employee input (1,852 staff responses with about 60% favoring the presented calendar) and noting adjustments based on a December power outage that changed the last day of school. Director Bocchanager moved to advance the calendar to second reading, seconded by Director Wilson; the motion carried.

No competing calendar proposals were adopted; the board will consider the calendar at its second reading and continue related budget and staffing discussions tied to the district’s financial work this winter.
