Attorney tells Morristown council developer has sued town over North Park Place designation

"David Brown has filed litigation against the town to challenge the condemnation redevelopment area designation," Ash said, and urged that redevelopment proceed in partnership with his client.
Council staff responded that, as of the meeting, the town had received no complaint and nothing had been served. A council leadership staff member recommended members refrain from commenting on the matter because it may be pending litigation and said the statements made that evening "do not comport with the facts" and would be addressed as the town defends any lawsuit.
No formal council action was taken on the redevelopment designation during the meeting. The item was raised as public comment and recorded for the minutes; town officials said they will address any served legal process through the appropriate channels.
