OCOEE, Fla. — The Ocoee City Commission proclaimed the week of January 2026 as National Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Week at its Jan. 6 meeting.
Commissioner Wilson read the proclamation noting that "CRNAs are advanced practice registered nurses providing anesthesia care to patients in the United States for more than 150 years" and that CRNAs are primary anesthesia providers in many rural and military settings. Marley Kane came forward to accept the proclamation and posed for a photograph with commissioners.
The proclamation affirms the city's recognition of CRNAs' role in patient care and referenced Medicare reimbursement recognition from 1986 and the profession's work across hospital, ambulatory and specialty care settings.
