OCOEE, Fla. — At its Jan. 6 meeting the Ocoee City Commission conducted a first reading of an annexation ordinance for 2277 Fuller's Cross Road, a property owner-submitted application to bring approximately 5.09 acres into the city's corporate limits.
Deputy Development Service Director Whitfield read the ordinance aloud, which states the annexation is "consistent with the Envision 2045 ACOE comprehensive plan, the ACOE city code, and the joint planning area agreement" and provides for updating official city maps and an effective date. Whitfield noted this was the first reading and that the item will be back for public comment at the commission's next meeting.
The mayor confirmed the second reading and public hearing are scheduled for Feb. 3, 2026. No vote on final adoption was taken on Jan. 6; the ordinance remains at first reading pending the Feb. 3 public hearing.
Next steps: staff will publish notice and return the ordinance for second reading and public comment on Feb. 3, 2026.
