Council approves annexation and two Vanguard Village short plats; other items continued

Annexation H2025-0038: Staff described a request to annex 0.91 acres into the City of Meridian with R2 zoning to allow a property with a failing well to connect to city water and sewer. The applicant said there are no current redevelopment plans and that the annexation completes the service agreement allowing connection. Council closed the public hearing and approved the application by roll call.
Vanguard Village East & West short plats (SHP2025-0008 and SHP2025-0009): Staff recommended approval for two short plats that subdivide larger commercial lots into four buildable lots each. No new public access was proposed; internal cross-access easements between the new lots and adjacent property were required. The applicant (Alquist/Allquest) supported staff recommendations and both short plats were approved.
