Board members opened the meeting by thanking district crews for their work during recent storms and praised the safety record that avoided worker injuries.

In the general manager’s report, staff said the district experienced heavy storms but so far ‘‘we didn't see a lot of damage this year’’ and no sewer spills were reported. The manager noted some minor tank damage that may require a project for repair, and that the MidPen housing demolition consumed staff attention during a busy period.

Directors and commenters urged public recognition for the crews and discussed fatigue risks: one director cautioned that staff often work long shifts and managers should ensure staff take rest breaks for safety. The board asked staff to report back if a capital project will be required to fix storm‑related tank damage.
