Council advances first reading to loosen deck setback rules in Bridal Landing PUD

City planning staff explained that lots in the Bridal Landing single‑family areas are smaller than typical, which made rear yards less usable; the amendment would relax restrictions so decks and stairs can extend within 10 feet of the rear property line on the affected parcels, increasing usable outdoor space for homeowners.
No oral or written public comments were received during the hearing and Council member Porter moved to approve the first reading; Council member Cool seconded and the motion carried on roll call. The ordinance will return for further readings as required by city code.
