The select board on Jan. 13 discussed the newly formed Little/Memorial Park committee and clarified membership and procedural expectations.
The board confirmed that the committee must have between three and five appointed members to function and that the committee should draft a mission or charge to present to the board for formal approval. Until a committee of at least three is formally appointed, the board said, "there's nothing legitimate until there is a formal committee," and no official decisions or name changes should be enacted by volunteer groups alone.
Participants discussed stewardship responsibilities, volunteer participation, possible funding sources (town line item or friends‑group fundraising), and standard waivers for volunteers who perform park work. Staff will vet applicant forms and return them to the board for appointment once applications are processed.
