The City of Muskegon Planning Commission on Jan. 15 voted to approve the commission calendar for the remainder of the year and approved the meeting minutes with a minor spelling correction. Both items passed after motions and roll‑call or voice votes recorded in the meeting.
During the meeting staff also announced that a long‑serving member, identified in the transcript only as "Jill," will resign from the commission. Staff said a thank‑you letter will be prepared and that applications to fill the vacancy are on file and will be forwarded to the city commission later in the month. Staff encouraged residents to apply for boards and committees via the city website.
The calendar motion was moved and seconded and passed via roll call with affirmative responses recorded in the transcript for the commissioners listed. The minutes were approved by voice vote after a brief correction to the chair’s name spelling. Staff reminded the public that city offices will be closed on Martin Luther King Day and reiterated how to find volunteer opportunities on the city website.
