At its Jan. 19 planning/action meeting, the Shippensburg Area School District board approved several personnel moves, contracts and facilities requests.
The board voted (8–0) to approve the hiring of the district human-resources director at a prorated salary of $90,000, effective Jan. 20, 2026, pending completion of required paperwork and clearances. The agenda referenced the replacement of Nicole Weber and included an employment contract in the meeting packet.
The board also approved a contract with the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO) for interim human-resources services provided by Mark Coleman; discussion noted that some of the contractor’s work had already begun and the contract should be retroactive to account for that work.
Facilities and operational approvals included a facilities-use request for high- and middle-school girls soccer to run indoor open gyms Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Jan. 18 through March 1, and approval to move forward on a CoStars quote to replace the high-school public-address system after facilities vetted the vendor; some board members asked for additional vendor comparisons but cited safety as a reason to proceed.
The board also approved a four-year contract with the Shippensburg Area Education Association (SASE), pending solicitor review, by roll call vote (8–0). The board combined some foundation-related items earlier in the meeting and approved those as a group.
Votes taken during the meeting matched the items listed on the Action and Consent agendas; where recorded, roll-call tallies were unanimous in favor for the items described above.
