The Moffat County Board of County Commissioners on Jan. 13 approved its agenda and consent agenda items and confirmed a slate of volunteer board appointments and one reappointment.
Chair opened the meeting and moved to approve the agenda and the consent agenda items A through S, motions that were seconded and approved by voice vote. Chair then invited public comment and none was offered.
The board reviewed recommended volunteer board appointments and reappointments across a range of local advisory bodies. The chair read names recommended for the airport advisory board (Daryl Wilshire and Kevin Peck), cemetery board (Sunshine White), employee retirement board (Brad McDermott), Hamilton Community Center (Sean Brookshire), the housing authority (Shannon Buchanan), land use board representatives (Mike Kamblin, Doug Davis, Miranda Kowchek, Ken Bechadahl, Travis Sandrell, Jared Smith), the library board of trustees (Carol Haskin, Katie Johnston), Mabelle volunteer fire department advisory board (Joyce Barnes, Todd Weber, James Malaro), Memorial Regional Health Board of Trustees (Amy Updike) and tourism and planning contacts (Megan Veenstra, Nick Lagorga, Emma Adolini, Megan Cook, Rena Olsen). A commissioner moved to approve the full slate “as presented,” the motion was seconded, and the appointment slate was approved by voice vote.
The board also reappointed Tom Gray as the county’s Colorado River District representative. A commissioner moved to reappoint Gray, who the board said has “done a good job” and gives the county “a wealth of knowledge” on the regional board; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
No additional public input or objections were recorded on the appointments.
The board moved on to the rest of the agenda after completing the appointments and reappointment.
