Romulus council confirms BZA representatives, names Greco as corporate counsel and approves assessor services

The Romulus City Council on Monday moved to confirm several appointments and sign off on professional services agreements tied to city operations.
Council concurred with the mayor’s recommendation to reappoint Daniel McAnally as the planning commission representative to the Romulus Board of Zoning Appeals; the motion passed by voice roll call. The council also approved the appointment of Cathy Hood to the same board with a term to expire June 30, 2027, consistent with the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act.
On legal representation, the mayor proposed appointing David Greco of Greco Law PLLC as corporate counsel and asked the council to authorize a four-year retainer agreement. "We have the right man and the right firm to replace him," the mayor said, referencing the retirement of the prior corporate counsel. A motion to appoint Greco was moved and approved unanimously.
Following the retirement of the city assessor, the council authorized a professional services agreement with WCA Assessing to provide assessor duties. Jennifer Samper, introduced as the signing assessor, said she previously worked in Romulus and will serve as signing assessor and be available to the administration and council by phone and email.
All measures were approved on roll-call votes with all present members recorded as voting yes. Council directed administration to finalize contracts and return any required documents for signature.
