Tivoli Trustee Sarah Boden described the village fire department as "municipal" in structure and stressed that the department's service area extends beyond village borders, reinforcing the need for intermunicipal cooperation and a clear capital commitment.
Supervisor Robert McKeon told the board the move is intended to show funding partners that the town is committed; the $7,000 would be shifted back to capital from operations so the capital line reads $60,748 and can be presented to Tivoli's funders. The board approved the amendment and the accompanying budget adjustment by vote.
Board members thanked Tivoli's volunteers and officials for the presentation and indicated they expect additional discussions about operating-line impacts and future capital needs in coming meetings.
