The Elgin City Council on Jan. 14 approved a three‑year subscription upgrade with Box Inc. that adds the company’s Box AI tools and expands the city’s enterprise‑level cloud services.
City Chief Technology Officer Aaron Cosentino told the council the platform already houses the city’s unstructured documents and that the upgrade will let staff create managed AI “agents” that can review bids, summarize lengthy memos, extract metadata and speed routine workflows.
