At the Jan. 15 meeting, Rankin County road staff presented three proposed submissions to the Competitive Municipal Program for Development (CMPD).

The board approved a resolution to submit an East Metro Parkway overlay application that would use an 80/20 local match provided by Rankin County. Staff said that, if funded, the county would enter an interlocal agreement with the cities of Flowood and Pearl for work inside their municipal limits.

The board separately approved resolutions to submit a second application for the Spanning Land and Circle overlay and a third to submit the Foxhall Road bridge replacement (bridle 6184) with local matching funds. Staff located the Foxhall project near Popsall Road off Old Brandon Road in Pearl.

The board also set public hearings tied to several agenda items: Items A and B were set for Jan. 29, 2026, and Items C through I were set for Feb. 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. The resolutions and hearing dates were approved by voice vote.
