Darien — The Darien Board of Education approved its consent agenda at the Dec. 9 meeting, including approval of minutes, committee reports and a proposed budget transfer to fund a security audit.
Superintendent Dr. Byrne told the board the district has $74,619 in excess turnover savings from teacher replacements. He recommended transferring $47,288 of those savings to pay for a security audit; staff said the latest winning bid for the audit came in lower than a previously discussed placeholder amount.
Board member Dennis moved to approve the consent agenda; Sarah seconded. The chair called the question and the vote was unanimous.
The consent agenda also included routine personnel and committee reports. No public comment was offered.
What happens next: staff will bring forward budget detail in line with the district’s January budget deliberations and any final contract paperwork related to the security audit.
