Mr. Sorensen of the election commission told the meeting that Bernadette High School has closed and that the election office identified alternative polling locations, including Hyatt Firehouse and the Oakland Community Center, the latter designated permanent. Staff said the chosen sites required no additional inspections and will serve as polling places unless a better option appears.
Chair read names of nine individuals appointed to the fair board and invited any present to stand for recognition: John Spence, Abby Taylor, Teddy Birkett, Linda Pitts, Maribel Austin, Haley Caviness, Brett Roseboom, Cindy Zegler and Jake Kelly. The chair said this was the first time in years the county had nine applicants willing to serve.
The chair also announced committee assignments for procedures/management, law enforcement, solid waste, personnel and budget and said staff would email the full list to commissioners for confirmation.
Commissioners approved a volunteer assignment for an April 18 duty and then moved to adjourn.
