City Manager Mister McAvoy told the Planning Commission on Jan. 14 that the city’s former Community Development Director, Lisa Key, is no longer with the city and that the departure was a routine separation.
"Our former community development director, Lisa Key, is no longer with the city," McAvoy said, adding that the departure "was in no way under any circumstances other than simply a departure. There were no policy violation issues. There were no performance issues. There were certainly no ethical/legal issues." He asked commissioners and the public not to spread rumors about the nature of the departure.
McAvoy said interim coverage will be provided by existing staff: Amy and her planning staff, Luke and the engineering team, and building services personnel. He emphasized continuity of service during recruitment for a permanent replacement and said he and the mayor were available to meet with commissioners or members of the public to discuss the transition. "You should see no disruption in service," he said.
Several commissioners later reported that they had contacted Lisa Key and relayed that she appreciated working with the commission and was feeling better about moving on. No personnel details were discussed in public session.
