Hebron — At its Jan. 8 meeting, the Hebron Town Council confirmed the town manager's appointment of Christie Merrifield as revenue collector effective Jan. 8, 2026, and the council unanimously approved motions to accept several resignations.
Jan Lawrence read the motion confirming the appointment under town charter Section 8‑03a. Town Manager Andy introduced Christie Merrifield, citing her municipal experience, and Merrifield said she was “looking forward to serving the community” and noted prior local and regional municipal roles dating to 2005.
The council also voted to accept with regret the resignation of Benjamin Gilmore from the Water Pollution Control Authority and multiple resignations by Richard Steiner from the Public Building Committee and the Emergency Generator Building Committee. Members thanked Steiner for his expertise and many years of volunteer service and noted he would continue serving on related committees in other capacities.
All appointment and resignation motions were moved and voted on during the appointments portion of the agenda; each motion carried in voice votes recorded during the meeting. The council indicated the library board appointment item had been tabled until a later date.
