The Johnson County Council appointed Jesse Allen to the Greenwood City Economic Development Commission during its Jan. 12 meeting.
Three applicants were initially on the list for the Greenwood EDC: Tim Schrader, Jesse Allen and Eric Rheingart. Tim Schrader withdrew his application because accepting the appointment would require him to resign from the Greenwood Park Board. Jesse Allen, appearing online, described himself as a Greenwood resident and said he wanted to contribute and learn; council members noted his architectural background as an asset. Eric Rheingart spoke in support of local economic development and described prior experience with Aspire Johnson County and the Public Revenue Education Council.
Following discussion and endorsements, Jonathan Myers moved to appoint Jesse Allen; Ron Bates seconded and the motion carried.
Council thanked both applicants for applying; no contesting roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript beyond the recorded ayes.
