LPC selects 2026 leadership; approves consent item and several tax-credit repairs

At the start of its meeting the Baltimore County Landmarks Preservation Commission selected its leadership for 2026: a nomination was made to retain Phoebe Evans Latosha as chair and Ed Hoard as vice chair; the nominations closed and commissioners confirmed both by roll call.
The commission then approved minutes from the Nov. 13 meeting and moved the consent agenda. Consent item 5 — the Parker House (final landmark #235), 410 Fairmont Avenue in Towson (Council District 6) — received part 2 approval for an in-kind asphalt roof replacement; no public opposition was registered.
In other business staff reported part 2 approvals for historic tax-credit or emergency repairs: Vanderby property (5116 South Rowland Road, Relay) received part 2 emergency approval for a new boiler; Gilligan property (149 Stephenson Lane, Towson) received part 2 approval for HVAC replacement; Stewart property (4024 Stewart Road, Stevenson) received part 2 approval for porch, roofing, dormer and chimney repairs; and Morgan property (637 Murdoch Road, Towson) received part 2 approval for plumbing and basement foundation repairs and a gas water-heater replacement. Commissioners were also briefed that Sparks School (preliminary list) has a county council public hearing scheduled next Monday.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn and congratulations to the new leadership.
