Committee narrows Measure BP logo choices, asks staff to return with two refined options

At the Jan. 13 meeting the committee reviewed six revised logo designs for the Measure BP Stakeholders Oversight Committee. Staff described each design as a blue-and-gold circular seal with variants that included a ship's wheel and a check mark meant to signify oversight and fiscal responsibility.

A staff presenter said the designs shared the tagline "investing in a better tomorrow" and asked the committee to indicate preferences for font and layout. Committee members discussed legibility and symbolism: one member asked, "The check mark, can you tell us the meaning of the check mark? Is that oversight and accountability?" and staff responded that the check mark signifies oversight and fiscal responsibility and, in an accounting sense, may signal verification.

Committee members coalesced around options B and E and recommended a specific refinement: add the blue check mark from design D to design E and present both B (without the check mark) and E (with the blue check mark) with a few font variations at the next meeting. Staff agreed to return with two or three revised options for a final decision or vote at a subsequent meeting.

Why it matters: The logo will appear on promotional material, plaques and communications that identify Measure BP-funded projects, and committee members emphasized clarity and community recognition in the final design.
