The Bridge & Tunnel Enterprise (BTE) board approved a seventh budget supplement for fiscal year 2026 to increase the construction phase budget for the US‑40 over Shelton Ditch bridge replacement in Routt County by $838,736.

Patrick Holinda told directors that the project was advertised and received five bids; the three lowest bids were within 10% of each other and staff judged the bids to reflect current market conditions even though they exceeded the engineer's estimate. Staff recommended award under Policy Directive 703 because of the variance and the board approved the budget supplement to proceed with contract award.

The structure is located on the east end of Hayden, Routt County. The board moved, seconded and approved the supplement by voice vote.

Board action allows staff to finalize the award and proceed with the replacement project intended to address a top‑tier bridge priority in the enterprise's prioritization plan.
