The Cape Coral Planning and Zoning Commission voted to approve Ordinance 1-26 on Jan. 7, 2026, endorsing a city-initiated future land-use amendment covering about 70 acres north of Kismet Parkway.
Senior planner Anthony Santor told the commission the amendment would reclassify parts of a city-owned tract from mixed use to industrial and designate other portions as preserve/natural resource to codify an existing conservation easement. "This is a large scale city initiated future land use amendment," Santor said, noting the area is primarily vacant and adjacent to an existing industrial park.
