Glocester council approves DPW hire, reappointments and fill-in inspectors

DPW director Gary Bridal asked the council to appoint an applicant to the Driver Laborer 1 position. The council moved to appoint "Harrison Terrace" (transcript) effective Dec. 22, 2025, at $29.40 per hour with benefits under the current NAGE union contract; the motion carried by voice vote.
The council accepted the resignation of Mark Rector (position 3, Glocester 250 commission) with thanks and appointed Marie Penta (transcript spelling variants) to fill the position. The council also reappointed Kathy Bucci and Gail King to the Conservation Commission (terms to expire 12/31/2028) and reappointed John Kitson and Brandon Fogarty as one‑year alternate zoning-board members through 12/31/2026.
To ensure inspection coverage, the council authorized the building & zoning office to utilize Michael Paolucci (electrical) and Robert Rivera (mechanical/plumbing) as as‑needed fill-in inspectors, paid via current inspection fees and processed administratively through finance to ensure W‑9s and payment. The council stressed the fill-ins would be paid flat fees, not regular employees.
