Woodland Park Council unanimously reappoints and appoints volunteers to boards and commissions

The Woodland Park City Council on a unanimous vote approved a slate of appointments and reappointments to several city boards and commissions and administered oaths to newly appointed members.
Council and staff said multiple terms were set to expire on Jan. 1, 2026. The council reappointed three candidates to the Historical Preservation Committee after the applicants introduced themselves and described recent preservation work in the city. Laurie (longtime committee member) told the council she had served roughly 25 years and recounted recent preservation grants and projects including the Templeton (Pioneer) Cemetery restoration and a local historic survey that resulted in a series of landmark designations.
Architect David Langley described his experience restoring and documenting historic properties in Woodland Park since 1981, and Eric Simonson cited surveying experience and hands-on work at Templeton as reasons to continue serving. After a motion was made to appoint the three applicants to the Historical Preservation Committee, the clerk called the roll; Mayor Case, Mayor Pro Tem Nakai, and council members Bryant, Gere and Jones each voted yes and the motion carried unanimously.
The council also reappointed a planning commissioner and filled openings on the Board of Adjustment and the Board of Review. Don (planning commission applicant) outlined work on a municipal code rewrite and expressed interest in serving through the upcoming comprehensive-plan period. Nick Abercrombie and Lou Ramon were appointed to the Board of Adjustment following introductions, and the council assigned term expirations and appointed Jeff Cahill, Mac McVicker and Jeff Smith to the Board of Review in a motion that specified two 2029 terms and one 2028 term.
Suzanne, the city clerk, administered oaths to the newly appointed members at the conclusion of the board-appointee segment.
All of the appointment motions listed on the agenda were carried by unanimous roll-call votes.
