The York City Redevelopment Authority approved two related actions to consolidate parcels on Northwest Street: purchasing a vacant lot at 123 Northwest Street for $1,500 and amending an existing redevelopment agreement with developer Von Bridal to include the newly acquired parcel.
Staff (Speaker 2) explained the lot is a narrow vacant parcel adjacent to three RDA‑owned lots. “He has offered to sell it to the RDA for $1,500, and I think it's a critical part that we should consider purchasing,” Speaker 2 said. Board members clarified lot contiguity and noted the acquisition would simplify site management and maintenance.
After purchase approval, the board voted to amend Redevelopment Agreement (RDA Resolution 5574, adopted 08/20/2025) to add the parcel to Von Bridal’s agreement. Staff explained the additional lot changes development feasibility: where Von Bridal previously could build two homes given setback constraints, the added parcel could allow up to four homes.
Both the purchase and the amendment passed by voice consent. The RDA will draft the deed and complete transfer from Tesla and Company and update the redevelopment agreement to reflect the additional lot.
