Commission approves UDO text amendments, hears TIF expansion and administrative items

Staff presented proposed amendments to UDO chapters 2 and 12 to clarify permitted uses and to add a definition for a governmental agency training facility; the commission reviewed minor typographical corrections and held the required public hearings, then recommended the text amendments to Town Council. Commissioners clarified language about shooting-station measurements already present in the UDO (1,000 feet from shooting station to existing structures, 200 feet from shooting station to property line) and confirmed the language was carried forward rather than newly created.
The commission also considered Planning Commission Order 202601, a proposed expansion of the "Home Field" TIF district to support infrastructure improvements along Indy Road and adjacent corridors. The expansion was approved by the commission by voice vote and will proceed through the Redevelopment Commission and Town Council processes. The meeting opened with annual nominations and approvals for president and vice president (Andrew McGee and Phil Snowberger) and approved the December meeting minutes and the meeting agenda.
