Council fills library trustee seat, defers conservancy trust appointment pending full council
Summary
Claire Evans was appointed to the Little Compton Free Public Library board. A separate appointment to fill an unexpired conservancy trust term resulted in a 2–2 tie and was held until a full five-member council can vote.
The council appointed Claire Evans to the Little Compton Free Public Library board to fill an unexpired term ending Oct. 15, 2026; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
Separately, the council considered an appointment to fill an unexpired term on the public conservancy trust (term through 07/01/2026). A motion to appoint Taylor Johnson was moved and seconded but the initial tally was recorded as 2–2. The chair indicated the council would not finalize the vote until Councilor Mataronis returned to restore a full complement of five councilors. During discussion, councilors advocated for both Taylor Johnson and Paul Golombeski as candidates; no final appointment was made at the meeting.
