Timnath board conditionally approves transfer of Signal Tree liquor license to Mine House

The Timnath Local Licensing Authority on Dec. 9 approved the transfer of a liquor license for 4650 Signal Tree Drive to Wu Street, doing business as Mine House, subject to a condition requiring the transferee to provide confirmation that all licensed wholesalers have been paid in full by the prior owner.

Town staff attorney Miss Steffel told the board the application had been reviewed and the town clerk’s background check on the new owner produced no criminal convictions or pending charges. “In this case, the background check has come back clean,” she said, and recommended a conditional approval requiring the new owner to file proof that wholesalers had been paid.

The applicant, identified in the hearing as “Mister Wu,” described the proposed business as an “Asian noodle house with tapas” that will offer dine‑in, patio seating and takeout with “some pairings, mainly sake and wine.”

Council moved and seconded the resolution to approve the transfer with the condition, and the Local Licensing Authority voted in favor. The board’s approval allows the new owner to continue operating under the temporary permit the town issued on Oct. 30, 2025; the current license expires Dec. 10, 2025, and any subsequent renewal will be handled administratively by the town clerk.

The approval was procedural: councilors limited the review to whether the transferee met statutory eligibility criteria and docketed the condition to protect wholesalers’ claims before the license is fully transferred.
