Brecksville-Broadview Heights board elects Mark Dosen president, Tish Kwiatkowski vice president

Brad Chase was sworn in to his board term at the start of the Jan. 7 organizational meeting of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Board of Education and signed the oath of office.
The board opened nominations for officers and an unnamed board member nominated Mark Dosen for president. After a motion and a second, the board approved a resolve to appoint Mark Dosen as board president by roll-call vote, recorded as four yes votes. The newly seated president then presided over the remainder of the meeting.
The president opened nominations for vice president and nominated Tish Kwiatkowski, who had told trustees she was willing to serve despite being absent from the meeting. The board resolved to appoint Tish Kwiatkowski as vice president; that vote also passed 4–0.
All officer appointments were made by motion, second and roll‑call vote. The board followed with routine procedural actions, including confirming that member voting order will be alphabetical with the president voting last and that Robert’s Rules of Order will govern procedural questions.
The meeting proceeded with committee and administrative assignments and other standard organizational business. The board adjourned after completing the organizational agenda.
