The mayor proposed sending a courtesy message on utility bills asking residents to keep cars off the street during snow events rather than imposing an emergency parking ordinance.
In standing reports the Tree & Beautification Committee outlined plans for the Vienna Pollinator Garden (listed at 26–28th Street and River Road): planting three small red oak trees in spring, expanding fencing, and adding pollinator plants such as elderberry and milkweed to support monarch butterflies. Committee members discussed potential seasonal displays and community engagement for maintenance.
Later public comment included Brian Flynn, who said he is moving to Marietta and may run for Marietta City Council. Flynn commended Vienna officials for cooperation and suggested reintroducing a trolley or other regional transit connection among Vienna, Marietta, Parkersburg and Williamstown to help residents reach jobs and services.
Mayor and council also provided a six‑month budget update: the administration reported roughly $360,000 less managed spending over the first six months compared with the prior administration’s first six months, noting a pension payment of about $344,000 remains due later in the year.
