A town representative presented a memorandum of understanding between Greater Clark County Schools and the Town of Clarksville to provide School Resource Officer (SRO) services. The speaker said the Clarksville town council approved the agreement on Nov. 18 and that the district will pay one-quarter (25%) of SRO benefits and salaries under the arrangement.
The presenter connected the agreement to prior district discussions about Senate Bill 1 and noted the 2026 budget had been prepared with the SRO cost-share in mind. The board moved, seconded and approved the MOU by voice vote.
Board members asked a clarifying question about the 25% figure and staff confirmed that the district share is 25% as presented. Staff indicated the MOU and related costs were already considered in budget planning for 2026.
