District construction staff gave trustees a photo-driven update on Parkwood Elementary, describing interior and exterior progress and the near-term steps required before occupancy.
Mike Holkamp, senior project manager, said crews have finished terrazzo in the main lobby and are completing casework in the art room and classroom finishes. He described the media center, STEM room and mechanical systems work, noting crews are beginning flooring and ceiling installation and are commissioning boilers and rooftop air-handling units.
Carl Dunn, project superintendent, and on-site engineer Micelle Ramirez answered board questions about finishes and sequencing. Holkamp said the team is coordinating a move with district staff and expects a move from the old building around the end of the school year: "We are on schedule," he told trustees.
The project team highlighted coordination with local officials for site access and noted upcoming milestones: mechanical systems startup, terrazzo polishing, kitchen finishes, parking-lot completion and final interior finishes over the next 60 days.
