The Auburn Board of Zoning Adjustment conducted its annual officer elections during the January 2026 meeting. A motion was made to nominate Leticia Smith to remain as chair for 2026; the nomination was seconded and passed on a roll-call vote of board members present.
Members then nominated Emmy (also referenced in the transcript as Amy/Emmy Sorrells) for vice chair. After a second and roll-call, the board confirmed Sorrells as vice chair. Board members discussed procedural details including that regular members retain their seats through Jan. 20 terms and that supernumerary members are not eligible to serve as officers. Staff said a new supernumerary will receive training prior to their term start.
The board recorded the elections and proceeded to hear the scheduled appeal.
