The Braintree School Committee opened its Jan. 13 meeting by certifying officer elections and conducting routine business. Member Rollo was declared chair after a majority vote; Mark Kurtzberg was nominated and accepted the vice chair position and was confirmed by acclamation; Joe Fogarty was elected recording secretary following nominations. The committee approved open session minutes from Dec. 8 and both open and executive session minutes from Dec. 16, and approved a comprehensive list of gifts to schools, with voice votes recorded as unanimous on those items. The meeting then proceeded to administrative updates and presentations.
