Board hears first reader to name Groves High School JROTC wing for Sgt. Tyrone L. Chisholm

The committee reported it had held the required meetings and reached a unanimous recommendation to bring the naming forward as a first reader. Staff said the formal naming recommendation will be brought back to the board for official action at the Feb. 18 meeting.
The presentation included the committee’s rationale that a facility naming would be an "impactful tribute" to a Groves alumnus who "paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country." The board did not take final action and will consider the naming at the next scheduled board meeting.
