Oldsmar council adopts Ordinance 2025-08 updating water distribution design standards

At its Jan. 6 meeting the Oldsmar City Council adopted Ordinance 2025‑08 on second and final reading. The ordinance amends the city’s land development code to require that water distribution systems and water-main extensions be designed and constructed in accordance with the Florida Fire Prevention Code.
City Attorney Tom Trask read the ordinance by title during the public hearing portion of the meeting. No member of the public spoke for or against the item. The clerk conducted a roll call and announced the ordinance was adopted by a 4–0 vote.
The ordinance updates local design standards to align with state fire-safety requirements; council members indicated there were no changes since the ordinance’s first reading at the Dec. 16 meeting.
