Lancaster County recognizes 2025 Leadership Academy graduates

Lancaster County commissioners recognized the graduates of the 2025 Lancaster County Leadership Academy during their Jan. 13 meeting.
Stephanie Mitchell, content designer and facilitator for the program, told the board the academy used a quarterly, theme-based curriculum focused on "self awareness, building leadership identity, resiliency of leaders and leadership, and networking," which she said gave participants opportunities to apply leadership tools and to network with county leaders and panelists. "We have really prepared this group of exceptional county leaders to enter the leadership pipeline development for Lancaster County," Mitchell said.
Commissioners expressed thanks to the cohort. Chair Krista Yocum thanked participants and highlighted the monthly newsletter that keeps commissioners informed. Commissioner Rick Vest praised county employees and encouraged those not yet involved to apply for county jobs. Graduates were called forward, handed certificates and stayed for a group photograph.
The presentation is part of the county's ongoing workforce development efforts; commissioners said the program helps build internal leadership capacity for county operations. No formal action beyond ceremonial recognition was required.
