Sabrina Maguire, owner of Brown River Cafe, said she currently holds a beer‑and‑wine (BBL) license and would consider applying for a full liquor license if the council expanded the cap. "I am in favor of this," Maguire said, noting she would not necessarily change hours or business model but wants additional options for customers.
The solicitor emphasized that first reading is only one step; subsequent land‑use approvals and the licensing process would apply to any applicant. The ordinance passed its first reading and the public hearing portion for the item was closed; a second reading next month would be required for final adoption.
