Council praises holiday events; Roseville Historical Society announces free program

Councilmembers used the Dec. 9 meeting to thank staff and volunteers for recent holiday events and to highlight community programming.
Dave Bommarito of the Roseville Historical Society told the council the society’s last program of the year will be held next week at 6 p.m. at the Roseville Bridal School and will feature Jeremy Dimock of the Detroit Historical Society speaking about the early Detroit Lions. "We expect to... sell out, but it's free admission," Bommarito said, inviting residents to attend.
Multiple councilmembers — Councilman Shoemaker, Councilwoman McCartney, Councilman Leticia, Mayor Pro Tem Haass and Mayor Taylor — praised the tree lighting and parade of lights for strong turnout and commended police and fire crews for traffic and safety support. Mayor Taylor reminded residents to be cautious during expected winter weather and noted public works crews will salt and plow as needed.
What’s next: The historical society will pause in January and resume programming in February; the council meets again next week for its second December session.
