Business League lays out 2026 legislative priorities; supervisors adopt three road projects

The Madison County Business League presented three 2026 legislative priorities (Weisenberger Road, Gluckstadt Road, Commerce Park Connector), handed out maps and handouts, and the Board of Supervisors approved the priorities to present to the county’s legislative delegation.
Jan, representing the Business League Foundation, introduced Phil Buffington and other delegates and distributed a handout and map of proposed priorities. Phil Buffington said the priorities were developed after meetings with mayors and the business league government affairs committee and recommended three roadway projects to the county’s legislative delegation: Weisenberger Road, Gluckstadt Road and the Commerce Park Connector.
The Board thanked the league and the county’s lobbyist team, then moved and approved a resolution endorsing the three priorities. Jan invited supervisors to the annual legislative breakfast the next morning at the Embassy Suites where the priorities will be presented to the delegation.
Next steps: the county’s legislative delegation will be briefed and lobbyists will advance the selected priorities during the upcoming session.
